The judge in the Bill Cosby trial has declared a mistrial on Saturday after the jury failed to reach a verdict in the sexual assault trail involving Andrea Constand.
Camille Cosby did not relent to defend her husband of fifty years, Bill Cosby.
Cosby’s wife 73-year-old released a statement on Saturday, few hours after a Pennsylvania Judge granted a mistrial due to a two twice-deadlocked jury in the case in against superstar husband — who has been accused of drugging and s§xually assaulting Andrea Constand (former Temple University employee) at his Elkins Park, Pennsylvania, mansion in January 2004.
A Pennsylvania jury has been deadlocked since Thursday, 4 days after it started deliberations, and declared Saturday it became nonetheless unable to reach an undisputed verdict. A Judge later declared a mistrial and granted the district attorney’s request for a new trial.
Bill Cosby had pleaded not guilty to the 3 charges of aggravated indecent assault, insisting his sexual contact with Andrea was consensual. He also denied similar allegations from more than 60 women.
Camille Cosby slammed the prosecution and judge and show a heart of gratitude towards their supporters after the Bill Cosby trial case came to an end in a mistrial Saturday.
Statement from Camille Cosby:
“How do I describe the District Attorney? Heinously and exploitively ambitious,” Camille, 73, released in a statement posted on her husband’s twitter account page Saturday.
“How do I describe the judge? Overtly and arrogantly collaborating with the District Attorney. How do I describe the counsels for the accusers? Totally unethical.”
“How do I describe many, but not all, general media? Blatantly viscous entities that constantly disseminated intentional omissions of truths for the number one motive of greedily selling sensationalism at the expense of a human life,” she stated. “Historically, people have challenged injustices. I am grateful to any of the jurors who tenaciously fought to review the evidence; that is the rightful way to make a sound decision…ultimately, that is a manifestation of justice, primarily based on facts, not lies. As a very special friend once stated, once stated, ‘Truth can be subdued, however not destroyed.'”
In addition, Camille thanked Cosby’s counsellors Brian McMonagle and Angela Agrusa for their “hard work ”, towards Bill Cosby trial. District attorney Kevin Steele has not stated his response to Camille’s angry statement.
Speaking at his own press conference, he called Constand “courageous.”
“She is a positive person and has kept all of us going while waiting for the jury to come back,’’ he said. “She will continue to cooperate with us and I look forward to her getting a verdict in this case.”
The comedian has not commented himself at the judge’s decision for a mistrial and the beginning of a new trial, which is to commence within 120 days. He also thanked supporters on twitter on Friday. He appeared impassive at a press conference Saturday.
The Cosbys has four daughters.
